Yes, advance reservations are strongly recommended, especially for weekends, holidays, and the Derailed and Heritage tours, which have limited capacity and partner timing.

You can purchase tickets online through ScenicCityTours.com, or by phone; same‑day, in‑person tickets at the Chattanooga Choo Choo may be available but are not guaranteed.

Yes and no, the trolley tour is pet friendly as long as your pet is friendly. However, if you are planning on taking the Derailed Trolley and Train Experience, your pet must be registered as a service animal in order to ride the train. For our Holiday Lights tour that Stops at the Chattanooga Zoo, pets are prohibited in the zoo.
-
The Express Tour is approximately 1 hour and is designed as a “first stop in Chattanooga” overview with continuous live narration.
-
You’ll ride through downtown and along the Tennessee Riverfront, passing key landmarks such as the Chattanooga Choo Choo, the Tennessee Aquarium area, Coolidge Park, and historic neighborhoods while hearing stories about 200 years of Chattanooga history.
-
The Derailed Experience combines a guided city trolley tour with a heritage train ride on the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum’s Missionary Ridge Local train highlighting Chattanooga’s rail history, Civil War stories, and scenic views. Your ticket typically includes the train fare; gratuities and parking are not included.
-
Plan on four hours, including the trolley portion, transfer time, and the Missionary Ridge Local train ride; exact timing may vary by departure and season.
-
The Heritage Tour includes a narrated city trolley ride plus a stop at the Coker Museum, where admission is included, and a visit to Chattanooga National Cemetery, with additional pass‑by views of sites such as Sculpture Fields and major downtown landmarks.
-
The Heritage Tour generally lasts around 2.5–hours, including approximately 45 minutes inside the Coker Museum and time at the National Cemetery.
